What are Telegram Gifts and how can you use them? 🎁
🎁 What are Gifts?!
Telegram's latest update introduced an exciting new feature called Gifts! Every now and then, Telegram releases unique, limited-edition gifts that you can purchase using Stars (Telegram's in-app currency) to send to your friends and loved ones. You can even buy them for yourself and build a collection right on your profile.
The coolest part? According to Pavel Durov (source), these gifts will eventually turn into NFTs that can be bought, sold, or traded on the TON blockchain in the future!
🛍 How many types of gifts are there?
Gifts are divided into two categories: Limited and Unlimited. Limited gifts have a restricted supply, and the lower the supply gets, the more valuable and expensive they become. On the other hand, Unlimited gifts have a fixed Stars value and don’t fluctuate in price.
What’s even cooler is that only Limited gifts will eventually turn into NFTs, while Unlimited ones will remain as they are.
If you’re looking to build a collection for yourself, it’s obvious you should focus on the Limited category!
🤔 What’s the point of Gifts?
As the name suggests, they’re... well, gifts! New ones are released for different occasions, and you can buy them for yourself or your loved ones.
For now, they don’t have any specific use other than looking cool. But soon, they’ll turn into NFTs on the TON blockchain, and you’ll be able to trade them. That’s about it for now!

Nobody knows when the next batch of Gifts will drop! The timing and supply are different every time, which makes them even more exciting.

🛒 How to send a gift or buy one for yourself?
Now that you're familiar with the Gifts, it’s time to learn how to buy them! 💵
If you want to buy gifts for yourself, you’ll need a second account to purchase gifts for your main account. But if you want to send gifts to others, you can use your main account directly!
To get Stars for your second account, go to reliable sites like Fragment or PremiumAndStarBot (no KYC needed) and buy Stars. Once the Stars are credited, go to the chat with the person you want to send a gift to. Click the three dots ( ⋮ / ⋯ ) at the top of the screen, then select "Send a Gift". Now, choose your desired gift from the list and complete the purchase!
If you’re buying a gift for yourself, just follow the same steps using your second account to chat with your main account!
📝 A few tips!
- When buying a gift, you can hide the sender’s name (the person receiving the gift will know you bought it for them, but others won’t be able to see your name as the buyer) 🥷.
- After receiving a gift, you can add it to your profile so others can see it! Just click on the gift and select "Display on my Page". If you want gifts to automatically show up on your profile when someone sends them to you, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, and click on Gifts under the Privacy section. Here, you can choose who can display gifts on your page without your approval! 👁️
- You can also convert gifts into Stars after receiving them (this will remove the gift, but you’ll get its equivalent in Stars). I don’t recommend this for Limited gifts, but sometimes you might need to do it. Just click on the gift and hit the button next to the value that says "Sell for X Stars"! (You have 90 days after receiving a gift to convert it into Stars. If you don’t, it will turn into a collection item and can’t be converted to Stars anymore) 🌟
